- Canadian
- Also known as a "Super Yankee". A permutation bet consisting of bets placed on 5 different events to give a permutation of 26 bets in total made up of 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and 1 five-fold. (click to edit)
- Carpet
- Odds of 3/1 in UK betting lingo. Also known as a "Gimmel". (click to edit)
- Carry-forward Pool
- Pari-mutuel (totalisator) term where an unwon portion of the pool is carried forward to another race, enlarging the value of this pool. (click to edit)
- Chalk & Chalk Player
- The favourite and someone who bets on favourites. (click to edit)
- Chart Forecast
- A chart to calculate Straight Forecasts. No computer returns. Often in evening Greyhound meetings. (click to edit)
- Circled Game
- Restricted betting, usually because of too many unknown variables about participants or iffy rumours. A maximum bet is imposed. (click to edit)
- Computer Forecast
- Returns made by bookmakers using computer generated forecasts (click to edit)
- Conditional Bet
- Where a specific conditions are stipulated on a bet such as 'if win'. (click to edit)
- Controlled Risk
- In spread betting, a bet where the amount the punter can lose is controlled. (click to edit)
- Coupling
- Runners in a race having the same owner are treated as a single selection for betting purposes. (click to edit)
- Credit Bet
- Basically gambling on credit. Betting without any real money cash deposit. (click to edit)
- Cross Bet
- (Single stakes about, up and down, vice versa): 2 selections, 2 bets - 10p win A, if cash (any to come) 10p win B; 10p win B, if cash 10p win A. (click to edit)
