Underdog
The competitor in a race, or sporting event which not expected to win. Usually the underdog will have the longest odds, which means that in the case of the underdog winning, or being placed, a bet can return significantly more than the nap or favourite. (click to edit)

Up and Down
An "Up and Down" bet is an abbreviated method of writing two "Any to Come" bets, e.g., 10p- win A "ATC" 10p-win B - 10p- win B "ATC" 10p-win A.
